Comprehensive Edit – 0.007 per word ($700 for 100,000). Minimum $50.
A developmental edit on espresso. Addresses broad scale story issues, pacing, thematic inconsistencies, plot holes, weird characterizations, and other significant issues that affect whether or not you have a “good” story ready to be polished. In addition, the comprehensive edit will include a great deal of line editing. This covers sentence structure, word choice, repetition, transition, typos, and anything else that affects the actual writing mechanics. Not a proofread.
Developmental Edit – 0.005 per word ($500 for 100,000). Minimum $25.
Addresses broad scale story issues, pacing, thematic inconsistencies, plot holes, weird characterizations, and other significant issues that affect whether or not you have a “good” story ready to be polished. All restraint will be made NOT to address writing mechanics…although some line edits may sneak in.
Outline Critique – $50
A review of your story from an outline perspective. Will address developmental problems, pacing, and story weaving. Specific guidelines must be followed so that the reviewed outline contains all necessary information.
Self-Edit Kick Start – $100
A first 10,000 word comprehensive edit and an outline critique designed to give you all the clues and tools you need to do your own well-informed self-edit and/or rewrite.
Coaching – $15/session.
You will have a weekly, 30-45 minute, chat session to talk about the writing process, motivations, ideas, outline problems, and anything else you need to keep you writing. Some editing and critique can be done, not to exceed 5,000 words over a month. Think of this like getting weekly private lessons for writing.
Formatting – $150 for 50k. $50 for each additional 50k block.*
Print or eBook ready formatting. Title page, copyright, TOC, Chapter headers, page numbers. Package deals can be negotiated for formatting both print and eBook of the same manuscript.
*The inclusion of tables, pictures, annotations, etc. will incur additional charges.
