My Grandfather died on September 14, 2010.  He was 97 years old.  He lived through both world wars, Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf War, the War on Terror, and every conflict in between.  He saw the invention of the TV and the moon landing.  He watched the Model T evolve into a modern sedan.  He was an avid Braves fan and could remember celebrating the accomplishments of Shoeless Joe Jackson.

Today is my grandfather's birthday. He would be 99. This is a post I wrote about him shortly after he passed...a mini biography. Enjoy!

Keven Newsome is a child of God, husband, father, and friend, in that order. He’s also a novelist, musician, and sometimes artist. He holds a degree in music from William Carey University and will earn a Master of Arts in Theology, specializing in supernatural theology, from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in the spring of 2013. His debut novel Winter was a finalist for the Compton Crook Awards and the Grace Awards. His other works include Prophetess, the sequel to Winter; three contributing stories in the Aquasynthesis anthology; and a contributing micro-story in the Avenir Eclectia anthology.
